Did my stork arrive???

Yesterday afternoon there was some good news past around!! One family who is using the same agency as I am posted on her blog that FOI has received 8 files of WC!! I was shocked as I wasn't expecting to hear anything until around the end of the month!!!

So with my heart racing I couldn't hold off anymore. As soon as I got home from work I had to phone my agency. I felt bad calling since Bob just returned home from China and Yulin actually stayed in China and will be there for at least another month (FOI has 3 groups going in the next month to receive their babies). But I needed to hear if he had any news for me. Something, anything really!!!

It was so nice talking to Bob on the phone since usually I just send him emails. He didn't have a lot of information to share about the NEW CCAA rules & process but he did confirm that they received 8 files of babies that need to be matched with their FOREVER FAMILIES!! Since Bob cannot read Chinese he doesn't know what special needs these babies have so I don't know if there is a heart condition little girl or not. All Bob could say about the 8 files is that half of them are girls and half are boys and he knows the ages of the babies since he can read Chinese numbers. He has sent the files off for translation and they should be ready in a few days.

My agency was hoping to get all 25 waiting WC families matched in this batch. And because CCAA has requested every family's parameters of special need, FOI was waiting for CCAA to send a specific baby for each family. Bob noted that CCAA didn't send any that specifically matched for any of the families and some with needs that none of the families requested. FOI has already requested more WC files as they were under the impression that the CCAA had agreed to match all 25 families in this batch. Bob doesn't know when the rest of the files will arrive, but my thoughts are having Yulin still in China is a good thing. I know she will stay on the CCAA and I'm guessing they will arrive very shortly.

Once the files come back from being translated Bob will have to match all these babies with their families. Bob commented that he hasn't decided how he is going to do the matching. Normally the preference is given to the families according to how long they have been waiting. First come, first serve. The good news is I'm right near the top. I think I would be sitting in the number 2 or 3 seat to be matched!! But of course Bob can only match me with a baby that meets my request and what I have been approved for.

I do have a somewhat good feeling about this batch of files!!! I will keep my fingers & toes crossed and continue to sit on pins & spikes this week!! What matters in the end is that all 8 babies will be match with their families!! I cannot wait to see pictures & hear about the soon-to-be Canadians!!
