Saturday JOY!!

Sorry if your seeing this for the second time. I had it posted Saturday night, but since blogger was doing weird things to my blog I had to delete the post!!!!


My most wonderful days are those when I get to spend time with the little people in my life. My Saturday started off when Lori & Haley came to town to spend the day shopping. Haley of course was a trooper and even cashed in on some goodies!!
Here she is testing out Channing's stroller.....she really enjoyed sitting like a big girl!!!


Then in the late afternoon my little buddy Hunter came and spent the night with me. He is growing like a weed and always surprises me with what he will say next. He is starting to put around 5 words togther in a sentence and has such great come backs already!! Here he is in the bath with his bubbles and of course Thomas. Also SP...those bathtoys you sent for Channing also had to go into the tub. Hunter had a blast "fishing the bubbles".....

Goodies for Channing

This past few weeks Channing's doll collection is growing!! When Lori & I were in Regina I found the Corelle doll Calin. She is so cute and cuddly. Also the same day I came across my favourite Care Bear....FUNSHINE wearing a ladybug costume. There is also another doll, but due to the fact I bought one for my Secret Pal I cannot post it right now!!
The Build-a-Bear was given to Channing by one of my good friends and former boss Deb. Deb was in New York at a Spa Conference and was trying to find a Chinese doll, but couldnt find one anywhere. She decided to build her a bear!! We wont talk about Deb's challenge of getting the bear home.....that will be a story for Channing to hear from Deb!! Thanks so much Deb...I now Channing will have fun with "Princess" and changing her too!!

Perfect

While out shopping on Saturday I came across this wall hanging at Yvette Moore's Gallery. It is PERFECT...... The Journey of a Lifetime begins with a single step!!!!! I cannot wait to get it up on the wall in Channing's room!!!!!!!

FAV FOTO FRIDAY!!!

Isnt this sooo cute!! This picture was taken the summer of 2004 at the lake. It's my little man Hunter and his friend Irelynd. YUP, Hunter was BALD for a long time. He still doesnt have much hair. Hunter was 4 months and Irelynd was 2.5 months old!!

Day 2-Cutting the squares

So lastnight was DAY 2 working on Channing's quilt. Randee picked my up and before heading out to the lake we stopped at the quilt store and bought some RED THREAD!!! We met at Brenda's house since it didnt make any sense for her to haul all her quilting stuff over to the clubhouse. We first started off by having nummy good supper. Randee & I took out salad and a roasted chicken and Brenda had made a vegetable pizza which was soooo good!!

Next it was time to start cutting ALL the squares. Brenda being the "cutting" girl cut all of them down. My job was to organize them on the ping-pong table. Once Brenda was done cutting we decided on a pattern. It looked amazing having all the squares layed out together and the same size...I was getting soo excited!! We figured out all the measurements so I could go and pick out the binding, boarder and dividers. The only thing I know is I have my backing picked out which I have to get ordered in!!!!

Ohhh...I thought I would brag abit here....so when we were cutting the squares, I could name who gave me each square!! Now that is approx 115 squares that we cut....thats how special each square is too me!!!


Update: Today after surfing through some quilt patterns I came up with the PERFECT one....go figure!! So shhhhh, the ladies dont know that there is a CHANGE IN PLAN!!!

I know I have a few squares to come in from a few swappers (Tracey, Sandra & Louise). So if you reading this can you please get them off in the mail ASAP as they need to be here by our next quilting date. Thats when the sewing starts and I want to make sure they are added to the quilt!! Thanks ladies!!!

I have seen this Favorite Foto Friday on other blogs and thought it was fun... now I'm going to join in.......

Yeah, its only Tuesday but I thought I would start today so I dont forget to do this on Friday!! Sooo EVERY FRIDAY I will post one of my FAVOURITE photo's. If there is anyone out there that I have some "pictures" of that you dont want posted ....NOW is the time to show me your $$$$!!!

Well to start my FAV FOTO.....Here is my nephew Hunter (2.5 months old) and my GIRL Saige. Hunter was laying on the floor watching Baby Einsten so Saige decided to "watch" him for me!! I know Saige will be a super Jie Jie (big sister) to Channing as she ADORES Hunter....well maybe his cookies!!!

BATH TIME FUN

Wow!!! My secret pal did it again! This months theme was 'Bath Time' and my Secret Pal went over the top!!! Each piece was individually wrapped in light blue tissue paper and had fish stickers all over, so each was a surpirse! In this month's package is Channing's first towel. A very cute & soft Winnie the Pooh hooded towel. Next I opened the soft Ducky Bathtime book. I havent opened it to read it yet, but I'm assuming it will be very cute!! Next, the bathtime toys!! What cute little guys, and the net to scoop them up in.....maybe tonight I will have to have a play in the tub!!! Also Channing scored in some gum tooth paste and a finger brush. I sure hope she has no teeth or I'll be in trouble!! Then next was some bathtime scrap booking stickers, which I cannot wait to use!! And do you notice the ladybug candle and little ladybug on the couch. Well my Secret Pal sent those last month too!! I'm glad that I got 2 candles now, so I can burn one. Also that little ladybug.....I'll tell ya, Hunter and I have so much fun with that little thing. He'll put it on my shoulder and scream so I jump and the ladybug goes flying or I'll throw it at him and he screams....we played that for hours one night!! Everytime he comes over now he asks for the LADYBUG!!!

And of course my Secret Pal included a card. It is beautiful, baby blue with a dolphin on it (how did she know I have a dolphin tattoo). Anyways, in the card she writes that she hopes Channing will love the water/lake as much as I do.....I'm sure there will be no worries there SP!! I want to THANK YOU Secret Pal!! It's amazing how someone can be so thoughtful to someone she's never even met. Once again I am overwhelmed by your generosity!

DAY 1- Starting on the QUILT

I'm so excited. Last Wednesday night we started Channing's quilt. Randee, Brenda and I met at the Club House out at the lake and we went through all of the quilt squares Channing and I received for her 100 Good Wishes Quilt. We also looked at some patterns and talked about what I wanted. I found it very hard to pick a pattern since there are soo many squares. I dont want to cut them down too much as I dont want to loose any pattern.....but I think we have the perfect pattern now!!
Thank you everybody for helping make this special memory for Channing and myself. We will treausre this quilt FOREVER!!

We will be meeting this Wednesday to finalize the pattern and start doing a layout. It will be probably a 5 hour shift and then we do have a FULL day planned next weekend and the sewing will begin!!

Next I have to pick out the fabric for the backing of the quilt and the boarder. So I will have to make a visit to the fabric store and spend HOURS deciding (but I have an idea). I cant wait to see the quilt all done!! I will keep posting pictures as we go, but the most exciting picture will be once Channing is all wrapped up in it!!

P.S- We will be making 2 quilts. Both quilts will have a piece of everyone's square, but one will be a bigger quilt for when Channing is older and the other one will be a quilt that she can use everyday now (stroller, crib, China, ect...).

AT LAST!!

The other day I had Kadi for a sleepover. While I was in the other room playing on the computer I realized the dogs are quite (doesnt happen very often & usually means disaster). So I race out to the livingroom to see what was going on. This is what I found!! Notice Kadi tucked in between Saige's back legs!! They were out for the night!!

IN CHINA RIGHT NOW

HAVE A PEEK!!! Here is a family who is in China right now having the time of their lives! Gotcha Day was on Monday (Thanksgiving) so Karla has baby AnnaLeisa in her arms already and it sounds like they are doing WONDERFUL!!!!! Karla lives in Alberta, Canada and is adopting as a SINGLE MOMMA too...and...she is also using the same agency as I am. Karla has lots of helping hands with her as her parents and nephew went along on this incredible trip. AnnaLeisa is soooo beautiful!!! 2 MONTHS TODAY!!

Today marks month 2 that I have been "actually" logged in with the CCAA. The way things look right now I am thinking that I may get Channing's referral sometime in December/January. That is when my Agency is expecting a new batch of WC files...so my fingers & toes are crossed!!. I'll explain more on that process in the next few days......

It's TURKEY day!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all me fellow Canadian friends today!!! I hope you find time to relax and to spend sometime with your family & friends. Since it's Thanksgiving I took sometime to think about everything I'm thankful for....and I cant even begin to list them all. So I will list just a few.
I'm thankful for:
* My family
* My friends & blogger friends
* My baby Saige
* All the support I have received throughout my Journey to Channing
* My home
* My job
* Living in Canada
* My health
* The caregivers who are taking care of Channing right now....until she is in my arms!!

In China right now they are celebrating the "China's Moon Festival". Traditionally it marks the end of the harvest season. The festival is marked by the making and eating of "moon cakes" - round pastries filled with sweet fillings. Houses are decorated with coloured animal-shaped paper lanterns and altars are piled with round fruits to symbolise the shape of the moon. The evening is spent moon-gazing and enjoying the company of family, before enjoying a feast at midnight. I sure hope this will be the last Thanksgiving I have without Channing.

IT'S SHOW TIME

Today at 4:00pm a group of us will be jumping on a bus and heading down the highway to Regina to see the "ROLLING STONES". This will be the largest concert Saskatchewan has ever had, which is at Taylor Field (outdoor stadium). When tickets went on sale the concert was a sell out in minutes, so they announced they would add a second show. Tonight is the first show and 40,000 tickets have been sold for it. I just decided the other day that I would go since I seen the weather forecast and I had tickets. It should be fairly nice, but we will still need warm coats!! I'm not a ROLLING STONES fan at all, but I'm just thinking it's one of those "once in a lifetime opportunity". I havent heard who's opening for them, so hopefully it will be someone I like better than the STONES. The shocker is that my PARENTS and Aunt & Uncle are even going (Hi Auntie Linda & Uncle Greig)..... but hey it should be a good time.....

BAD ebay seller

Well I'm on my ebay addiction AGAIN....spent way too much $$ on clothes for Channing this week, but ohhh couldnt resist (must be that time of month)!! The other night I was doing my usual ebay surfing when my mom was over and we came across this. I didnt want to place a bid, but when the bid was at .99 cents how can you say no.

NWT Polo Rarph Lauren Down Jacket 12m $115 NO RESERVE !

What a beautiful jacket. It would most likely NOT fit Channing, but who cares if I can get it cheap enough. I think I know lots of people who are having baby girls!!! So to make the story short...last night I was the proud winning bidder of this jacket. I stole it for $13.01. WOW....I'm excited!!! I sent the seller an email for them to let me know the shipping charge and then I would pay for it. This morning the seller sent me an email and here was their response:

Hello there.

I'm really sorry to write regarding this metter at this time.
Actually the wining price is too low.
As you know, I started this to making money but, I never get the money from ebay.
I sold two items on ebay and I lost money either.
However, this time,,,, I lost money alot.

Frankly, I bought the item at 40% of from retail. It is almost $70.
Could you please cancel this transaction?
I hope you understand my situation....

I also have 2 yr old boy... and I don't want to lost my money anymore...
Please understand me at this time..

OKAY....I dont care if you lost money. Then dont list the item with NO RESERVE!!! Now you know a little of how my response went like. So has anyone else ever ran into this problem before? I still havent heard back from the seller, but I will keep you all posted!!! Do I report this seller to ebay now or wait a few days? Hmmm....if you see it re-listed on ebay, let me know and dont bid on it!!!

Haley's Baby Shower

Sorry to everyone who has been WAITING to see a picture of Miss. Haley at her Baby Shower. The shower was September 24th, and was a great way to spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Haley knew it was her party!!! She was awake and such a happy camper as she watched Mommy open all her PRESENTS!! When I say PRESENTS, I mean a wopping load of PRESENTS!! She cashed in big time!!


This is Mommy (Lori) opening the gifts. Sorry the picture didnt turn out very good, we had to have the SUN shine in!!! Haley got everything...booties, hoodies, toys, jackets, hangers, unicorns, hamper, diapers, clothes, bouncy chair, Baby Eintstein movies, and blankets. Munchin got spoiled...which every girl needs!!

I made it!!!!

The 100th SQUARE & WISH for Channing's Bai Jia Bei is from one of my bestest friends Debbie. Debbie and I have been friends since I was 4 years old. We have had so many great times and memories together. Debbie was also a reference for me in my homestudy for my adoption, actually she even got a phone call from my Social Worker. Thanks Debbie for all your support and especially for your FRIENDSHIP!!!

Since I have reached the 100th square it doesnt mean I'm stopping!! I still have some sqaures & wishes yet to come....that I am waiting on (hint...hint!). So please try and get them in ASAP, so we can start the QUILT!!!
