Ever since I began this Adoption Journey I have meet so many wonderful friends along the way. Whether it is from the chat groups, blogs or seminars.....it seems like when we meet in person for the first time we just "click".....like we have known eachother forever!!! There is no need to explain the process or why things are taking so long.....we understand becuase we are going through the same thing!!

A and ME

So last weekend when I headed out to Calgary, I jumped in the van for one and only one reason.....to finally meet A!!! A and I met on one of our chat groups way back last year and connected from the first email. And finally after hundreds of emails and phone calls I drove up in her driveway and ran for the door. Greeting me was A who had C in her arms......ahhhh FINALLY!!!! So after hauling everything inside, plus H (who was sleeping) we immediatley started talking. It felt like I had been sitting in her kitchen a number of times before.....too weird!!!

I also got to meet A husband G. Some of you will remember G from his trip to China. G travelled to China by himself to get C. He did such an amazing job, even followed A shopping list!!! Also A has 2 wonderful boys B and L.....they are so cute I got a kick out of them. The are not shy at all!! They were so excited for H to arrive so they could play with him and of course he was sleeping. Finally I woke H up (7pm) which maybe was the wrong thing to do.....he was a BEAR....enough said!!!

Now onto MISS C......here she is in her jammies!!! She was really curious and kept peeking at H who was sleeping on the couch. She did keep her distance from me and stayed pretty close to mom. Usually it would break my heart not to hold a baby, but I was OK with not holding C. She was doing exactly what she should be doing (for those not adopting... this is part of the attachement stage). But I did get close enough to her for her to take my cell phone....she liked that!!!

And the famous RED COUCH picture!!!! Here are the boys near the end of the night. H (on the left), B and L.....L is 3 days older than H. I think they got along OK, but knowing H and the BEAR he was, I dont think he played with the other boys....only with the trains........next time!!!

Thank you so much A for having H and I over to your beautiful home!!! I was so nervous that I wasnt going to make it over (since I was sick), but nothing was going to stop me!! Next time our visit needs to be much longer!!! I'll talk to you soon.........I'm still sick....grr!!!

Another BOY!!!!

Lastnight at 11:30pm my sister-in-law headed to the hospital in labour. At 3:21am this morning she gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy!!! My phone rang around 3:35am and when I answered my brother said "It's a Boy"......so the only details I know is he weighted 7lbs 11oz and has dark hair. I'm on my way up to the hospital to see my little peanut nephew B!!!!

Alberta bound!!!

Hi Everyone....this is a quick post to let you all know that I'm still alive!! Today I had lunch with my cousin L and she was commenting on how I havent blogged in awhile....I know, I know!!! There isnt much to say at this point, I'm hoping to have more concrete news on my travel plans shortly!!!

Here is my cousin L little girl H. This was taken lastweek when L and I were celebrating our birthdays. L just came to my house and we ordered in Chinese food!!

Tomorrow (Friday) morning I'm heading to Calgary for the weekend. My mom is on her way home (flying) from Arizona so my dad, H and I are going to meet her in Calgary. Saturday night they have a birthday party to go to so H and I will head over to my friend A. A and I have never met in person but have spent many hours chatting on the phone and email (A our first email was on May 12, 2006). She is one of my blogger pals who adopted their little girl C in January!!! I'm hoping to meet up with maybe another gal S too!!! But with only being there for the weekend, time will be tight. I'm going to be on a major shopping mission!!!!

Aidan IS 1 YEAR OLD TODAY!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

TO A SPECIAL LITTLE PEANUT.....Aidan

For those of you who dont know this beautiful little boy, he is Aidan. Aidan was matched with his mom & dad the same time I was matched with Channing. K and I are using the same agency and have been communicating with eachother since we began our JOURNEY to our precious children. We have became amazing friends and have even requested (demanded...LOL) to travel together!!

Today is Aidan 1st birthday. This will be his first birthday spending it in the Orpahange and also his last!! Since China is 13 hours ahead, Aidan has already had his birthday party. I know this little guy is so loved at his Orphanage...they had a party, he received presents and they even had his name on his birthday cake.

Happy Birthday Peanut.......hang tight, your mommy & daddy will be with you soon!! I cannot wait to watch you grow and look forward to seeing many, many more birthday pictures!! Love Auntie, Saige and Channing!!! XOXO

1 YEAR/8 MONTHS

Today marks my 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY that I "officially" was able to adopt from China. Even though I began my JOURNEY sooner, the Sk Government wouldnt accept my application until April 9th, 2006. Today is a wonderful day.......usually we focus on our DTC date, LID dates and celebrate those great milestones anniversaries.....but let me tell you.....I was soooo counting the days until I could "officially" apply to adopt a daughter from China. Its so hard to believe that it has been a year already!!!

Also today marks my 8 months LID-iversary!!! It seems so sad that I still have to count these anniversaries since I have received my referral of sweet, beautiful Channing, but hopefully I wont be counting them too much longer. Hopefully in a few days I will have an update to share with you all!!!

I have a friend who is a LURKER of my blog......Today I would like to say a special HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY to Nicole!!! Nicole and I have gone to school together since Kindergarten.....so there are many memories!!!

Almost Done!!!

Last week we finished sewing the top of Channing's quilt together. R couldnt make it that night, so I twisted C arm to come and help!! B soon found out that C could sew......so she was planted at the sewing machine!!! She was in ahhhh all night!!!

Here it is!!! A very large quilt!! Actually it can be used as a quilt or a sleeping bag. There will be some snaps along the bottom and along the side so if Channing wants it as a sleeping bag then she will stay all tucked in!!!

Here is the boarder I chose!! Since the quilt has EVERY color, no pattern I decided to pick out a piece of fabric I like and this is what I chose!!! The backing on the quilt will be either lavendar minky or sage green minky.........which ever I can find first!!!!

DAY AT THE LAKE

Today was another "LAKE" day. The weather was a bit chilly, but it didnt stop H from wanting to play outside. Usually he wants to play soccer, but the soccer ball was lost in the boat house. Grandpa found us the football and it was so cute watching H "play". I couldnt believe it!! He really knew what he was doing!! He would "tackle" me, kick the ball just like a "kick off", and would run for a "touchdown" (my car only got hit a few times)!!

After we watched Grandpa cut some tress down, played on the swing set, finished our football game we went inside to have a sandwich. We were all in the kitchen having a coffee with our neighbour and H was eating in the other room. You have to wonder what is going on when a child goes quiet all of a sudden. I went and checked up on him and this is what I found: Notice Saige who is outside watching H......HIS SANDWICH IS IN PIECES AND HE IS DRIVING HIS TRAINS THROUGH IT......

NOW HE IS TRYING TO SAY HE DIDNT DO IT!!!!!
